[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is great to have four days free over Easter. We can spend the time to clean and wax the boat, fix the bottom and cover some other maintenance issues. At least that was the plan. For cleaning the boat we needed water supply and the pump that delivers the water at the club has not been installed yet. Also fixing the bottom has not proceeded due to the lack of machinery. So we spent the time at home which is not bad either.
At least we got the tarp for the winter off the boat so Orvokki can breath fresh air. The ice around Jänissaari has melted away but the water level was rather low.
The tarps have been still on a lot of boats.
Orvokki still under the tarp for a moment.
The tarp was still in very good conditions and nothing broke.
The tart will be stored for the next winter. Luckily that is still far away.
The bottom looked pretty good under the anti fouling paint. Let’s see what is revealed when the top layer will be removed.
After all the forced break was not that unwelcome. The exam for the celestial navigation course was only one week ahead and there was still plenty to review and calculations to be practiced. The whole winter was spent in the classes and we just wanted to pass the exam so that we do not have to retry one year later. The calculations are quite long and some could easily take over an hour to go through if one wants to get the correct result. The exam itself lasts 8 hours which sounds much but if there are several tasks that take their time it can get tight after all.
Happy Easter to everybody![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
